Great Design Lies in the Hands of the Designer: Thoughts on DIY Marketing

Designer working on branded content

With the increasing speed and stability of network connections and the explosion of self-service marketing and design suites such as Canva, Wix, and Figma, it seems software has taken the classically trained design professional out of the design process. However, appearances are deceiving; experience and observation has proven that these platforms only enable non-artists the ability to drag and drop prefabricated designs onto a blank canvas, the end result appearing much like a slightly more appealing PowerPoint slide rather than a professional looking piece of branded content. Moreover, I've seen far too many busy professionals wasting their time creating subpar graphics that don't incorporate company brand standards, approved logo clear space, or boilerplate copy.

In a world of AI and self-service solutions, marketing design should not be one of them.

Rather than attempting to recreate the "magic" of a superbly designed piece of content, approach a design professional who can help design a branded suite of graphic templates. Not only does this support the artist's craft, it also encourages the non-artist to establish at least a transactional relationship with the artist, who is available to assist even with questions regarding the branded graphics templates created for non-artist use. Designers with at least 5 years of experience can work quickly to modify and correct templated graphics with the company's brand standards in mind, saving the client time and money on expensive design subscriptions that are extremely underutilized by the non-artist.

Get in touch with us for the creation and maintenance of all your templated "magic" needs! Experience what great design is all about, and enjoy the process of working with an art professional who can anticipate the needs of your growing organization.
